About The Producer
Finca Monteblanco: Innovation Rooted in Tradition
Nestled in the lush hills of Colombia’s Huila region, Finca Monteblanco is a standout example of innovation meeting tradition. This farm is owned and managed by Rodrigo Sánchez Valencia, a third-generation coffee producer whose family has cultivated coffee here for decades. Inspired by his grandfather’s legacy, Rodrigo has transformed the farm into a hub for experimental processing and rare varietals—while maintaining deep respect for the land and local biodiversity .
Located near the Cueva de los Guácharos National Park, one of Colombia’s 59 protected natural areas, Finca Monteblanco benefits from a unique microclimate and rich ecological surroundings. The nearby Suaza River provides clean, fresh water for both cultivation and post-harvest processing—critical for producing high-quality specialty coffee.
Rodrigo is known not only for his deep agronomic knowledge but also for his dedication to cup excellence. For this particular lot, he selected the Geisha varietal—a coffee known for its elegance, floral complexity, and citric brightness. Thanks to meticulous care at every stage of production, from cherry selection to fermentation and drying, the unique characteristics of this Geisha are beautifully preserved.
Finca Monteblanco is also recognized for its sustainable practices and commitment to quality. Rodrigo often experiments with innovative processing techniques, including anaerobic fermentation and natural drying, pushing the boundaries of flavor while protecting the integrity of the environment.
This Geisha lot is a true reflection of Rodrigo’s vision: a coffee that honors heritage, celebrates terroir, and delivers an exceptional sensory experience in every cup.
